Maxine Aaronson has expertise in resolving contested tax issues at all stages of the process: examination, administrative appeals, and if necessary, trial. She is a firm believer that the best result for the client in tax controversy matters is often to resolve the matter as early in the process as possible in a manner that meets the client’s economic objectives. When Ms. Aaronson has been brought in to assist early in the audit process, she has been extremely successful in achieving resolution without the necessity of a trial. As Chair of the Tax Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Dispute Resolution, Ms. Aaronson is nationally recognized as a leader in encouraging the use of mediation and other ADR techniques to resolve tax controversies.

Maxine Aaronson is experienced in obtaining advance rulings and technical advice from the Internal Revenue Service National Office. She has obtained rulings on behalf of individuals and businesses as well as for non-profit organizations and employee benefit plans.

Collections Practice

Maxine Aaronson negotiates with the Internal Revenue Service on behalf of her clients.
