Business Tax Planning

Maxine Aaronson handles all aspects of tax planning, including rendering advice to business startup operations,  financing, ownership changes, taxable and tax free acquisitions, reorganizations, spin-offs, split-ups, liquidations, dispositions and terminations of businesses.  The scope of her work includes analyzing the tax consequences of proposed transactions, developing tax efficient strategies, rendering tax opinions, developing executive and professional compensation arrangements, and planning for the eventual transfer of the business to the younger generation or to outside buyers upon the retirement of the original owners.     

Individual Tax Planning   

Ms. Aaronson works with individuals to help them meet their personal financial  objectives in the most tax advantagous way.   Working closely with the client's other professional advisors, she maximizes opportunities to preserve family wealth.  Maxine Aaronson uses partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, and trusts in planning for the management and transfer of personal wealth.  She assists  her clients with stock redemptions and corporate and partnership reorganizations, as well as charitable giving, tax planning, and the protection of pre-marital wealth by designing appropriate marital agreements.  Ms. Aaronson also advises clients on issues arising from the taxation of lawsuit damages, the imposition of the alternative minimum tax, capital gains tax planning,  like-kind exchanges, stock options and deferred compensation issues.   

Charitable and Other Tax Exempt Organizations

Ms. Aaronson represents clients on all tax issues associated with forming, expanding, operating and winding-up tax-exempt organizations.  She is adept at obtaining federal, state and local tax exemptions for religious, charitable, educational and other organizations.  Maxine Aaronson also advises  tax-exempt organizations involved in joint venture and partnership arrangements with taxable organizations, and counsels private foundations, charitable trusts and other exempt organizations regarding unrelated business taxable income, intermediate sanctions and other excise taxes, as well as federal and  state compliance issues.

Employee Benefit Plans and Accounts

Ms. Aaronson advises business and individual clients with respect to all types of qualified plans, Individual Retirement Accounts and other similar tax-deferred arrangements, including rabbi and secular trusts, VEBAs, stock options, SARs, and severance plans.   Ms. Aaronson also advises on health, accident and life insurance plans, Health Savings Accounts, COBRA and HIPPA issues.  She assists in the selection, drafting and adoption of plans for her clients and advises plan fiduciaries about ongoing administration issues.
